Chad claims that he was born in the wilderness and raised by cheetahs, but he goes home to Iowa every Christmas.

Chad works as a lighting and sound technician and seems to train by playing hackey-sack, snowboarding and throwing a frisbee. Plus gym work and commuting by bike. He is known as one of the best climbers in the New York City area.
